1861-2011: 150 years of ... Italy and Calabria! (2)


Proseguiamo con le "cronachette", tratte dal libro "Dal Tirreno allo Jonio" , per celebrare i 150 anni dell'Unità d'Italia in un modo un pò originale, come già detto nel primo post: storia sì, ma storia fatta di uomini e tante piccole vicende che hanno caratterizzato il nostro passato e che non vanno mai dimenticate.

Nel mese di ottobre a seguito dello straripamento del fiume Amato, in località Ricciardi, crollò un ponte ferroviario e vennero asportati centinaia di metri di rilevato. Ciò avvenne mentre sopraggiungeva il diretto Reggio Calabria-Roma. Morirono cinque persone e ci furono numerosi feriti.

1922
